Caddie Consulting has several success stories about working with current client’s accountants and bookkeepers. We helped make them more valuable to their owners and we know we can do the same for you. During the free consultation at one client’s office, the owner stated: “I want to fire my bookkeeper!” When asked when, he said now. He agreed to postpone the decision until I had a chance to speak with the bookkeeper and evaluate her accounting knowledge and work product. I soon discovered that the real issue was more of a communication problem than an accounting issue. We then designed a plan for the bookkeeper to manage the owner’s expectations and improve her time management skills. The bookkeeper still has her job and the owner said the improved communication skills has made her a valued key employee. Another business owner was receiving monthly financial reports that were unreadable, at best. As a result, he could not rely on any of the financial information from his accountant and was, in his words, blindly running the business. In addition, the accountant’s job was in jeopardy. We corrected the monthly financial statements and then trained the accountant on how to audit the financial results to ensure accuracy. The accountant has since received a significant raise and is being considered for a promotion. Finally, our last employee was meeting the needs of the business as an accountant and was considered a key employee, but was not considered for a promotion. Caddie Consulting was completing reports for monthly management meetings and trained the bookkeeper to complete them herself and analyze the results. The end result was a promotion to Director of Finance. |
