Text Box: The ranking here will be an attempt to duplicate the seeding committee’s final rankings. The committee will seed the top 5 teams and then use the Walker system to rank the remaining teams. Adjustments to the Walker rankings are sometimes made for Division winners. They will then shift teams to ensure that the first round of the playoffs have teams facing each other for the first time. This is not a requirement of the MIAA and is not always possible, but it appears to be a priority of the committee based on recent history.

Text Box: CADDIE’S PROJECTED SEEDS Remember, I was wrong last year! This is just my best guess! DIVISION III 1) Westfield 4) Minnechaug 2) East Longmeadow 3) Longmeadow DIVISION IIIA Greenfield (MIAA #1 Seed) Won Fay Division, only loss was to Central. Central (MIAA #3 seed) Tied for Wright Division title with Holyoke and Chicopee. Beat Wahconah and was only team to beat Greenfield. Tied for 2nd in Caddie’s Walker Calculation with Wahconah. Wahconah (MIAA #2 Seed) Won Hennessey Division with undefeated record. Lost to Central and Easthampton, but Wahconah was ranked higher than Easthampton in Caddie’s Walker calculation. Also, Easthampton tied St Joseph’s and Drury, while Wahconah was 8-0-0. Easthampton (MIAA #5 Seed) Finished in 2nd place in the Fay Division behind Greenfield. Beat Agawam twice and Wahconah once while Taconic was 0-2-2 in four games against Wahconah. Taconic (MIAA #4 Seed) Finished in 2nd place in Hennessey Division and was 4th in Caddie’s Walker calculation. Taconic only played one playoff team outside of Hennessey Division, an 8-2 win over Chicopee. However, they do have 14 wins. After top 5 seeds, seeds 6-9 are seeded based solely on the Modified Walker Calculation. Agawam (MIAA #6 Seed) Finished 3rd in the Fay Division, but had quality Independent wins over West Side and Concord Carlisle which gave them #6 ranking in Caddie’s Walker Calculation. Holyoke (MIAA #7 Seed) Finished tied for Wright Division title with Central and Chicopee. Central got bump in seeding for quality win over Greenfield and Caddie’s Walker Calculation. Holyoke is ranked #7 in Caddie’s Walker Calculation. Turners Falls (MIAA #8 Seed) Finished 4th in the Wright Division and was winless against Chicopee this year. However, Chicopee was under .500 in spite of sharing Wright Division title with Central and Holyoke. Turners Falls is ranked #8 in Caddie’s Walker Calculation. Chicopee (MIAA #9 Seed) Finished tied for the Wright Division title with Central and Holyoke. However, overall record was under .500 with an Independent record of 2-7-0.
